Richter Stone Puzzles
There are various pages on the web about the "Anchor" puzzles made in 36 different designs and especially popular around WWI. These are tangram-like puzzles with booklets that present around 100 shapes to be made with the pieces. Here are pictures of a few of the more interesting in my collection.
The top puzzle is a German edition. Richter issued the puzzles through various offices in foreign countries, including London and New York. The middle set above is a rare Kreuzenbrecher issued from Korsgaade in Copenhagen in 1891. The booklet has directions in Danish, as well as other languages. The earliest editions of the puzzles had gnomes on the cover of the booklets.
